The Video E-Newsletter
of Mount Royal United Church for Friday May 13th 2022
Welcome to our ninety fifth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.
If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca
we will do our very best to put it on for you.
A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins
with Rev. Stuart.
The weekly bulletin will be available here.
This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.
We hope you have a very good day today. Best Regards, Newsletter Committee
Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler
Hi. Happy National
Nurses Week May 9-15. Whether you are a nurse, have been a nurse or have been
the recipient of wonderful care by a nurse, we know how much nurses do for all
of us. Thank you!
This Easter Season, we
have a few things we would like you to participate in. You can find details on
the church website.
First, we have the
"I Wonder" box. It’s your chance to ask anything you wish about why
we do something in the church, why the United Church believes a particular
thing, or even why things happen. For example, where was God when that young
person died? Or how can God let Putin invade Ukraine and so many people die or
be displaced? Why does my loved one suffer year after year? What can I do to
mend a broken relationship? Is there a limit to how many times I can sin and
ask forgiveness before God won't forgive me if I sincerely want to do better? Please
submit your questions, the things you wonder about as Rev Stuart would like to
incorporate them into his weekly services. He can't do that without your participation.
Write your question on a piece of paper and drop it in the locked "I
Wonder" box.
We are also looking
for your input in the Faces of Faith series. A small number of people will
share during the worship service about someone who made a difference in his or
her life or had an impact on their faith journey. Others can participate by
writing the name of that impactful person on the outline of a face or other
shape at the back of the church. We won't call upon you to speak about that
person; rather, we just want to see a sampling of people who accompanied others
on their journey. Please pick up a face outline on your way into church and
drop it at the door after the service or stop by the office during business
hours and write the name down and leave it with Tracy. We would like to
incorporate all the names into an art installation at the front of the
sanctuary. And of course, please join us every Sunday during the Easter Season
to hear about lesser known but significant people in the bible.
Several people have
asked how, other than money, we can assist Ukrainian families arriving in our
area. Please check out this website for information on what is needed and where
you can donate. Your generosity is appreciated. ukrainesenb.ca
Please do not hesitate
to contact me if you have questions or concerns. Over the next few months,
email will be best.
