of Mount Royal United Church for Friday June 17th 2022
Welcome to our one hundreth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.
If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca
we will do our very best to put it on for you.
A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins
with Rev. Stuart.
The weekly bulletin will be available here.
This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.
We hope you have a very good day today. Best Regards, Newsletter Committee
PS. there are a couple of extra videos added this week for your viewing enjoyment.
Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler
gwe...Greetings or
hello
This marks the 100th
edition of Virtual Voices, a significant milestone for those of us who put out
weekly announcements.
Most weeks there have
been video recordings. The odd week the news goes out in email format. Some
weeks there are so many activities its hard to squeeze them all in during the
10 minutes or less we try to keep the recording; other weeks there isn't too
much new to announce. The weeks when news is slow are the more challenging ones
to put together. You can help by making sure we hear about meetings, programs,
or gatherings -routine or one offs, as well as celebrations and news people in our
Community of Faith would be interested to hear.
A huge thanks goes out
to Bill Millett who has ensured every edition, video recording or written message,
went out by news blast. We still love the name Virtual Voices suggested by
Ilene Maund and the illustration of the name designed by Jenn Smith.
June 21st is National
Indigenous People's Day. If you are interested in learning more about
Indigenous people in our area, predominantly the Wabanaki Peoples, check out
this resource. While it was designed with educators in mind, it is also a
simple to use and interesting read. Check out several of the various subjects. The
purpose of marking not only June 21st but the month is to understand more about
the history, culture, and languages of Indigenous people.
