The Video E-Newsletter
of Mount Royal United Church for Friday July 1st 2022
Welcome to our one-hundredth and second edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.
If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca
we will do our very best to put it on for you.
A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins
with Rev. Stuart.
The weekly bulletin will be available here.
This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.
We hope you have a very good day today. Best Regards, Newsletter Committee
Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler
Hi everyone. Happy
Canada Day.
How do you plan to
mark the day? If you go on the Canada.ca website,
you'll see a link that says, "On July 1, celebrate Canada Day in your own
way." You'll find string art crafts and chalking and a seek and find
page...lots of fun for young and young at heart. On an Etsy ad on another
website, I saw this cute Canada Day celebration shirt. You can see the picture
here at the bottom of the message. I hope it makes you smile.
Groups and regular
activities have all but wound up for the summer, but Rev. Stuart and the
Visioning and CD Committees are planning some fun activities. Watch for details
on the events section of the church website as plans are made. Some activities
being discussed are a music night, a movie night, an open house with BBQ, and
suggested summer reading to name a few. And, in the hopes of being able to
offer a Sunday morning program for children again next fall, parents and other
interested parties will gather to chat about what would work best for the
children.
One Covid protocol
change we are implementing this week has to do with mask wearing. We are still
asking you to wear one on entry and exit and when standing to sing or move
around. But when you are sitting in your seat, we know it is warm in the
sanctuary so feel free to take it off. If you have someone seated near you,
please ask if he or she is comfortable with you removing your mask. If not,
please move a little further away. We want everyone to feel comfortable in the
sanctuary whether you want to keep wearing a mask or you would prefer to leave
it off.
And, of course, when
you are downstairs having a bite or a drink at coffee and conversation you can
remove your mask. Please join us for a time of fellowship.
Be well this week. And
email me if you have any comments or concerns.
